The photo book software MyPublisher not only allows you to create photo books online, but also on your own machine, so no internet connection is required while you work. When you're ready to have your book printed, you just upload the final product and pay for the printing and shipping. While this product doesn't have all of the features and manipulation options, it is quick and easy to use.
When it comes to features, this photo book software has a good number but is lacking some of the most useful. Setting up a new project can be done in two ways: manually, putting each picture exactly where you want it, or quickly with the page-fill option. The page fill is a fast tool if you don't want to worry about taking the time to drag and drop every picture where you want it, but since it is a application, it doesn't understand which pictures go well together, so your end result may not be the best possible layout for your photos. We were pleased with the option to organize our photos into various albums making it easier to search through hundreds large number of photos. Additionally, the spell-checker and resolution-checker make it simple to see if there is a misspelled word in a caption or an image with a resolution that's too low.
Some of the features were more limited than we had hoped. There are a small number of background choices and few designer options. And the application is completely lacking embellishments and an element-positioning tool. Without these features available, the final products are not as decked out as they could be; instead, they remain very clean and simple. Not a bad thing at all, but it may be limiting for some. Overall, this photo book software has some great features that make designing a photo book a lot of fun.
This application was simple enough to figure out, so we never did have to go to the help menu while we compiled a photo book. However, some of the tools set up in challenging ways. For example, moving an image and resizing it are two completely different tools which means a lot of switching back and forth when you want to rearrange and resize photos. For the most part, this application is straightforward to use, partially because it doesn't have as many features or elements to worry about.
One of the aspects this photo book software has going for it is the live chat support offered on the manufacturer's website. There are occasionally times when the live chat is not available, so the phone and email support is a handy option. The other useful support option is the FAQs. These are fairly comprehensive and include information such on the best camera settings, scanning tips, editing tools, shipping table and descriptions of error messages. All of the questions we had regarding this photo album software were answered in a timely manner.
The photo book software from MyPublisher is great when it comes to making books that are clean and sharp. However, if you want to have more frills and options when it comes to embellishments and layout design, you won't find them with this software.
